Hi Melissa -
You are amazing. So many things going on in your life right now and yet you still manage to get it all done. You are an outstanding advocate and will wow them in Washington with your knowledge of the insurance needs of kids. Have fun. Trisha

Hi Melissa it's auntie Adrienne. tell your mom that Adrienne said hello. I know you must be very excited about your trip to Capital Hill. I'm so excited for you. You are such a strong young lady with high aspirations and goals set for yourself. You are an excellent advocate and may God bless you in all your endeavors. God Bless
Auntie Adrienne

Hi Melissa,
I just love reading your blogs and had to let you know before you head off to Washington what an inspiration you are to kids and adults. I had the honor to meet your mom about 4 weeks ago when I joined Children's Specialized Hospital Family Faculty. From reading your blogs and getting to know your mom, you make a great team. Just who we need as the voice for children's healthcare. God bless you both.

Melissa's Story

  • Melissa was hit by a car as a toddler and suffered a traumatic brain injury. While her initial prognosis was grim, she is now a pretty typical 15-year-old thanks in large part to the team at Children's Specialized Hospital.

Melissa will be blogging about her upcoming trip to Capitol Hill on June 17-18 to tell lawmakers about the importance of access to quality specialized care at children's hospitals.
