Crystal loves music, fashion design, photography, baking with her mother and reading good books. While still in utero, a pregnancy sonogram revealed that Crystal had tetralogy of Fallot, a congenital heart defect. Doctors at Miami Children’s Hospital performed two open heart surgeries and two stent procedures. Recently Crystal received a transcatheter pulmonary valve implantation and the procedure was a complete success. Today, Crystal can run, dance and play with her sisters at high speeds—a totally different little girl. Crystal’s family is very grateful for the support and encouragement received from family, church members and the cardiology department at Miami Children’s Hospital.
